About our Fire Department

Bonneville County Fire District 1 (BCFD1), Ammon Division, provides fire prevention, fire protection, and rescue services for the City of Ammon. The Ammon fire station is located adjacent to City Hall at 2137 South Ammon Road, ensuring rapid response times for residents throughout the city.

Open Burning & Recreational Fires

Open burning of natural materials (yard clippings, branches, ditch banks) is permitted with a Burn Permit obtained from City Hall. Burning of trash, hazardous materials, and tires is prohibited.

Recreational fire pits used for cooking or warming are not classified as open burning and do not require a permit. Recreational fires should be no more than three feet in diameter with flames no higher than two feet from the ground.

BCFD1 offers fire station tours and safety presentations for schools, community groups, and families. Schedule a tour by contacting Deputy Chief Keith Banda at kbanda@bcfd1.us or (208) 612-4060.

Fire code permit applications are available through the Building Department. Fees are invoiced by the Building Department, located in the City Hall basement.

Contractors and vendors servicing fire extinguishers, alarm systems, sprinkler systems, hood suppression systems, and fire pumps must hold a Life Safety License. The program governs NFPA standards compliance within the city.

Commercial and residential KNOX Box ordering information is available through the Building Department website.
